Saturday’s 5 Miles at the company park went well. Then today was my 10 Miles Long and I was feeling amazing, even with the 18 mph winds and rain, that is until mile 4. My right IT band started to tighten up and I knew I would have to slow down if I wanted to get the miles in. I guess I’m just not healed yet so I have to continue with ice, heat, and backing off when my body says so. It was frustrating to not get to run faster because I was ready to kick it up a notch.
Here is how the week ended up:
M: 4 Miles Easy (‘Hood, 9:20 pace)
T: Arms and Abs
W: Bike 2.3 Miles (Light warm up, 13.8 pace), Abs and Legs
R: 5 Miles Easy (Treadmill, 1% incline, 8:54 pace)
F: 5 Miles Tempo (Treadmill, 1% incline, 8:32 pace w/3 @ 8:20)
Sa: 5 Miles Easy (Park, 15 mph winds, 8:48 pace)
Su: 10 Miles Long (Park, 18 mph winds, rain, 9:20 pace, IT band pain)
Total Miles: 29
Next week is a recovery week and the timing couldn’t be better. I’m going to enjoy getting in some more strength training in.
Awesome job!
