Chicago Marathon Training: Week 3 Complete

What an amazing day!! We woke up to beautiful weather and that means we have to take advantage and go flying! We headed out to Kalamazoo, MI to go to Air Zoo. It’s an air museum with interactive simulators and rides.

Lake Michigan on the way there:

Me with some space shuttle booster thingy:

One of the hangers that had tons of vintage aircraft:

Flight simulators where we sit in a capsule and flip around. Doesn’t feel like flying though:

The air museum was two separate hangers. Us hanging out on the benches outside between the buildings before we check the weather for flying home:

Our plane parked next to a Stearan:

After we got back from all that walking around and checking stuff out it was time for a quick nap before our long run. We made it to the company park pretty late to start a long run. It was 7pm and by the time we finished we were in the dark. Both of us did our longest runs to date. I did 14 miles and Rob did 13.1! After that and getting home it was 10pm before we finally got to have dinner. It was such a long day, but so worth it!

Here is how the week eneded up:
M: Arms, Chest, Back
T: Rest
W: 2.75 Miles Easy (‘Hood, 9:15 pace)
R: 5 Miles Tempo (Treadmill, 1% incline, 8:19 pace w/3 Miles @ 8:00)
F: 2.5 Miles Easy (‘Hood, 83 degrees, 22mph winds, 9:02 pace), 2.5 Miles Easy (Treadmill, 1% incline, 8:43 pace)
Sa: 5K Race (84 degrees, 7:48 pace)
Su: 14 Miles Long (company park, 9:14 pace)

Total Miles: 29.85

  2. Hey Nicole! I knew you were in Michigan, but I didn't know from what area. That was not a far trip for us so it would definitely be cool to meet up!CJ
