Chicago Marathon Training: Week 8 Day 3

Today was 6 Miles Easy for me and 5 Miles Easy for Rob. We headed outside to run around the ‘hood just as the sun was almost done setting. During the last two miles I could really feel the temperature drop and the cool breeze was wonderful. It was a bit buggy out though. I hate that. Nothing like a chunky bug going up my nose or getting in my mouth while running. I felt like I was swatting or spitting every 10 minutes. That is one positive about winter time around here, no more bugs when running.

  1. I know what you mean! When I was running a 5-mile yesterday I kept fighting the bugs and trying to keep them out of my mouth. The worst is when the little gnats go in my eye!

  3. bugs are no fun! just wanted to say hi and introduce myself 🙂 I've been following your blog for a couple weeks now. great job on all the runs and races! I'm inspired with your motivation. It's also neat you have the little airplane. My bf is also a pilot – he worked for ExpressJet and he's now on a leave of absence and back in school. Someday (soon hopefully) he wants to build his own little airplane also – maybe we get tips from you 🙂 Just the past weekend we went to an airplane show/ fly-in here for breakfast. maybe one day you make it this way or a race. Happy running!

  4. Hey Ellie! That's cool that your BF is a pilot! That would be cool if you guys build an airplane someday. It's a time consuming thing, but SO worth it!CJ
