Goodbye week 11, you will not be missed. After such an amazing 20 miler to cap off week 10, this week has been a disappointment running wise. I’ve spent most of the week recovering from pain on the outside of my left foot. Recovering has included lots of ice, new shoes, new insoles, heating pads, and backing off my training.
To look at it positively, I know it was from my 20 miler and is recoverable since every day things feel better than the previous day. It’s just not 100%. I’ve kept my runs mostly on the treadmill and when the pain starts to increase I stop. I was able to make it 4.5 miles straight today before my foot started talking to me and then I pulled the plug. My hope is to get ready for my next 20 miler more than having a mediocre 16 miler on my treadmill today.
So here is what I did get done this week:
T: Upper Body Weights, Abs
W: .5 Miles Easy (Treadmill, 1% incline, 8:46 pace, foot not right), Bike 10.2 Miles (Intervals, P2, L6, 17.49mph), .6 Miles Easy (Treadmill, 1% incline, 8:35 pace, nope not a fluke my foot is not right)
F: 6 Miles Easy (‘Hood, 8:39 pace, foot 90% better)
Sa: BOSU (24 mins), 1.66 Miles Easy (Treadmill, 1% incline, 8:32 pace, little further but foot still hurt), 2.34 Miles Easy (Treadmill, 1% incline, 8:29 pace, yeah foot not right)
Su: 4.5 Miles Easy (Treadmill, 1% incline, 8:35 pace, foot still not 100%), Bike 7.4 Miles Easy (P1, L5-6, 17.76mph), BOSU (10 mins)
My plan is still to race in a 10K tomorrow and then ice a ton. Then I’ll just see what mileage I can get in next week and cross train when it isn’t working. Hopefully I’ll be ready for another 20 in seven days.
