Our second week of the week one of our plan (to make a 12 week training plan 13 weeks) went well, especially considering how busy this week was with Thanksgiving. I didn’t get any cross training in during this week, but I will this upcoming week.
Today was 13 Miles W/ 8 Miles @ MGP and we went ahead again and made it 13.1 so it would be a half. It was cold, windy and overcast. It also rained on us the first 5 miles during our warm up, which didn’t feel too pleasant since it was very cold rain. I’m sure people in the neighborhoods we ran through thought we were nuts. Rob and I both PRed our run! Rob did it in 1:44:54 and I did it 1:45:33!
Here is how the week went:
M: Rest
T: Rest
W: 8 Miles GA + Speed W/ 10 X 100M Strides (Treadmill, 1% incline, 1:03:31, 7:57 pace)
R: Rest
F: 9 Miles GA (Treadmill, 1% incline, 1:08:01, 7:34 pace)
Sa: 1 Mile Warm Up (8:24 pace), 4 Mile Race (27:39, 6:55 pace, New PR!, 1st AG)
Su: 13.1 Mile Long (‘Hood, 1:45:33, 8:04 pace, New PR!)
Total: 35.1 Miles
Awesome job! Keep on truckin'; Mercedes will be here before you know it. BTW, I love your holiday photos!

I've missed a few so I will just post it all here. Congrats on the 4 miler those are some smoking time both of you posted. It looks and sounds like everything went perfectly for your holiday, and not a bad way to top it off with a fly over of the Chicago sky line (I would have cried too).Congrats on another successful training week. LA Runner is right, Mercedes is right around the corner and I think it will be an outstanding race for both of you.P.S. Did you have some nice 30 degree weather this weekend? I pulled out the running tights, gloves and ear warmers….I loved it!
