Mercedes Marathon Training: Week 2 Complete

Saturday night we went over to the Shippys for their Christmas party. They are such a nice couple! Me and Mary.

This morning was our long run before we had family in town for a visit. We had 15 Miles to do. It was sunny and 25 degrees, with the wind chill making it feel like 16. It was very chilly so we donned our ninja masks.

After our brisk run and family visit it was time to get to work on installing the TV in our workout room. We had both received awards at work and with the holiday deals going it was the perfect time to get one since we have been needing one for awhile now. Here is how the workout room looks now. We need to repaint and get new window treatments, but it’s coming along!

Here is how the week ended up:
M: Pilates
T: Rest
W: 11 Miles Med-Long Run (Treadmill, 1% incline, 1:29:46, 8:10 pace)
R: 8 Miles Lactate Threshold W/ 4 Miles @ 15K – HMGP (Treadmill, 1% incline, 1:01:16, 7:40 pace)
F: Rest
Sa: .4 Mile Warm Up (3:13, 8:03 pace), 5K Race (21:25, 6:54 pace, New PR!, 3rd AG!), 1.5 Miles Recovery (Treadmill, 1% incline, 12:14, 8:10 pace)
Su: 15 Miles Long (‘Hood, 2:06:16, 8:26 pace)

Total: 39 Miles

  1. I agree with the PP. Great workout room, very inviting (beats the basement, unfinished too). Your building those miles up nicely. With another marathon training series under your belt and these great race times……your marathon is going to have some awesome results.


  2. I love the new header up there with the adorable picture of you guys! My girl and I ran 5 miles for our long run getting ready for the Mercedes 1/2… I know, we should have done 7 BUT she ran the WHOLE 5 miles! Never walked! I'm so very proud of her!
