Mercedes Marathon Training: Week 8 Complete

I’m late with this post because I was not well Sunday. I had some stomach issues during my long run that were not good. I tried to tough it out, but it became too much and there was no way I was going to be able to finish the run. Luckily I was on the treadmill and was able to stop and not have to deal with being far from home if I were running outside.

Here is how the week ended up.
M: Bike 8 Miles (P2, L5, 30 mins, 16 mph), Arm Weights
T: Rest, Push Ups
W: 8 Miles VO2 Max W/ 5 X 600M Strides @ 5K Pace (Treadmill, 1% Incline, 1:01:23, 7:41 pace), Abs
R: 11 Miles Med-Long (Treadmill, 1% Incline, 1:27:38, 7:58 pace), Back and Abs
F: 4 Miles Recovery W/6 X 100M Strides (‘Hood, 32:43, 8:11 pace), Upper Body Weights
Sa: 15KGP Tune Up (Treadmill, 1% Incline, 1:08:53, 7:24 pace), Upper Body Bowflex, TriggerPoint
Su: 12.5 Miles Long (Treadmill, 1% Incline, 1:39:40, 7:59 pace, Bad Stomach Issues), Arms

Total: 44.8

  1. Great week, CJ! Everyone has a bad LR once in awhile. Just move on to next week, okay? Your training has been so solid. One run is not going to make or break that.

  2. L.A. Runner said it best. Your training this cycle has been awesome. Also our poor home understands your pain. Chris had some pretty bad stuff on Saturday. Between the pepto, tums and gasx in our bathroom you would think we where an 80 year old couple. Hope you are feeling better soon!
