After yesterday’s race I had 3 Miles to get in to make my mileage for the week so I did 3 Miles Recovery on the treadmill later that day. I guess technically this would count as my first two-a-day, although it really didn’t feel like anything since it was just some extra mileage to get in and wasn’t planned to be on this day.
Today I set out on my 20 Mile Long run that completes the peak training for the IL Marathon. From the beginning of the run I felt sore and tired. Then there was quite a bit of wind to contend with. Needless to say it wasn’t my worst run, it just took a lot more effort and was less joyful than usual. I felt every mile this time. Luckily I was able to see our friends Mike and Jamie while running! Jamie was out walking the dog so I got an extra boost of energy seeing them towards the end of my run and she was even cool with me giving her a sweaty hug. 🙂
This week is also a new weekly mileage PR! 67 Miles!
