Workouts:
Sunday (1/9): 20 Miles Long (Treadmill, 1% Incline, 2:46:39, 8:20 Pace)
Today was my first 20 miler of this training cycle and it put me into a new weekly mileage high of 73 miles. My legs were noticeably tired and sluggish so I’m glad that this run wasn’t with MGP miles and was just time on the feet.
This evening we are chilling out and watching movies, a nice way to wind down and enjoy the last of this great weekend!
I cant believe you ran 20 miles on your treadmill… im dreading 8!

After a few long runs, I’ve goten used to it. I hate long runs in the bitter cold because it hurts the joints in my hands regardless of how warm I dress.

Oh my goodness. You are my hero. Did you watch tv or listen to music? Do you have a treadmill at your house?

Hey Hollie! Depends on the run. We have a tv in our workout room, but I rarely turn it on. I find that the shows/commercials are too much talking and noise and eventually become annoying to me when running. I do keep an ipod on me, but for long runs I turn it on and off as I’ve heard most songs a zillion times and quiet is nice too. We do have a treadmill at our house. If I’m keeping my long run indoors I do it at home and not at the gym. I think they would kick me outta there if I hogged a machine for 2hrs and 45mins. 🙂

Awesome job!!!! 🙂 I’m sure running 20 miles is hard in itself, let alone doing it on a treadmill!

I’ve been meaning to ask you this — what kind of treadmill do you have in your house? I, too rely on the treadmill for winter/summer runs, so I’d love to have one at home. Do you like yours?

Hey Allison! We have been happy with our treadmill. We got a Vision Fitness Simple model (http://www.visionfitness.com/) based on the reviews at the time and that they had a service dept in our town as well. We have had it for 6 years now and it has held up well. I only wish that it had a decline option to simulate a slight downhill. The next time we look to purchase one, we will consider that in our requirements.
