Running adds so much to my life and one of those aspects is the experience of something new. It can be a new running location or distance, but there is always something to make each run a totally different experience. This Saturday I will be getting a flood of something new when I compete in an indoor track event at a local university in the 3000M. The track is 200M making this 15 laps with a field of women who will mostly be much younger than me. Because I’m training for Boston, I have spent zero time on preparing for this event. I will be going into this with no other race or speedwork to gauge what the outcome will be. I assume that racing on an indoor track will also feel different. I’ve done past workouts on the track, but not competing against others. I expect that the blog post will be long for Saturday as every part of this race experience will be new to me. I can’t wait to try something new!
