6 Miles Easy (Treadmill, 2% Incline, 50:53, 8:29 Pace)
I love trying new things and having new adventures. Running allows me a chance to race new course locations, distances, terrain, there just seems like there is always a new way to mix it up.
This year I’m going to be doing something new in the running arena by being a Group Leader for a training program that helps prepare participants to run a local race that occurs in May. The program has two versions Catch the Wave, which is for a newer runner and Ride the Wave, that is for a runner with some experience who is looking to get back into running or improve their time. The race is around a lake that has two loop options 4.37 Mile (or referred to as the short race) or the 12K (aka long). They are odd distances, but a fun race.
Tonight after work I went to the Ride the Wave Group Leader meeting to get the low down of the training schedule. The groups will be divided up at the first training meeting. The program kicks off next Wednesday and we will meet at various locations to do training runs every Wednesday until the race day. We may also see if there are times when we can do some meet up runs on other days during the program.
I’m so excited to be a part of this program and help other runners get out there and work on area they want to improve. I can’t wait to get out and run with my crew!
