I can’t believe it, Chase is 1 year old!!! 😀 We are so excited that our baby girl is one year old! It’s amazing to look back a year ago our world was completely changed by this amazing little angel and here we are and she is already a year old!
A look back at June 11, 2013…
The day we met our sweet daughter
We had a wonderful time celebrating with friends and family the weekend before her birthday. First, Chase had all of her friends over to celebrate and then we had a nice relaxing lunch with family the next day. Here are some pictures.
Bounce house with slide that was even big enough for adults. It was so much fun!
Ombre purple cake with three flavors (top to bottom) – Cookies and Cream, Vanilla, Birthday Cake
Custom Grape Cotton Candy from Sweetopia Cotton Candy
Candy from Candy Warehouse, The Fresh Market, and Wal-Mart
Favor bags from The Paper Candy Shoppe
Cake pops also from Sugar Momma Bakery – White with purple drizzle is red velvet, purple with white drizzle is cookies and cream
Custom M&Ms with Chase’s Picture, her name, and others that said “1st Birthday”
Cupcake paper wreath from Crook N Savvy
For the sweets buffet we had cake, cake pops, cotton candy, lollipops, salt water taffy, pop rocks, rock candy, jelly beans, M&Ms, candy sticks, and hershey kisses.
Drink bin from Wal-Mart. Purple drinks included grape G2, sparkling grape drink, and grape Crush.
Chase woke up from her nap to find a party with about 40 friends over. Not every family has their child’s picture on out on the internet, so to respect their privacy I will limit posting photos of families to those whom have been on this blog before.
“Happy Birthday” and “Photo Booth” signs from A Banner Affair
We had an area set up in our study with some goofy photo props, where people to take a picture.
We had horse and carriage rides for everyone too.
All of the nicer photos were taken by professional photographer, Jamie. You can find her on Facebook: JLP Photography.
Picture from my phone on our carriage ride.
Chase’s “One” onesie and ombre purple tutu was from: PDS1113, her headband with little crown was from OnceUponATimeTuTus
We got Chase her own ‘smash cake’ cupcake. She isn’t a fan of being messy so she had a taste of frosting and a few bites of cake and was not really into much more than that.
Coco was even dressed up for the occasion with a purple bow. 🙂
The following day we had family over for lunch. She had her second ‘smash cake’ and ate it the same way, very carefully so not to get messy. 🙂 She wasn’t interested in being held much and wanted to keep practicing her walking skills. We did get a very quick picture of her with her cousin Mike and great grandma Ada.
It was such a special weekend to celebrate our little sweetheart.
Then on the big birthday we got up early to open presents with Chase. She wore her “birthday girl” shirt to daycare. After work we picked her up and took her out to dinner at Biaggi’s and bought her flowers. 🙂
One of her presents was late, so we opened it when it arrived. Her first Tiffany’s, the Elsa Peretti Heart Baby Brush for her keepsake to keep as she grows up.
Chase’s 1 Year Milestones and Info
Chase started walking on June 6th! She started with a couple of steps that day and now does 4-6 at a time. She has 6 teeth (4 on top and 2 on the bottom), the last two popped in right after the 11 month post. From what we can tell there are no others yet ready to sprout.
Chase is sleeping so much better! During a week typically 5 nights she will sleep through and put herself back to sleep. A couple nights a week she stands fully up and needs a little water and rocking and goes back to sleep. This is a huge improvement from where we started!!
She is 29 inches long (44th percentile), 22 lbs 14 oz (88th percentile), and 18.5 inches head diameter (94th percentile).
She’s transitioned from baby food to table food and from formula to whole milk. She will enjoy a sippy cup with water, but we haven’t fully transitioned her milk to a sippy cup just yet.
When she talks she is very close to saying ‘dog’ when she sees Coco or another doggie, ‘hi’ or ‘bye’ when she waves, and ‘uh oh’ when she drops something. 🙂
We can’t wait for what is next for this little girl. She is just a blessing and a joy. We love her so much!!
