Chase’s 4 Year Birthday Party – June 2017

Catching up on posts and wanted to share photos of Chase’s 4th birthday party from June 2017, which was mermaid themed.

We started her birthday morning with a spa day of nails and hair. Chase’s first salon manicure and pedicure.

I used brown sugar in the food display to look like sand. For the table cloth my husband and I took brown paper and created a treasure map and burnt the edges and holes in it.

For decorations, I reused vases that I had, filled them with play sand, seashells and white candles. I used existing storage boxes that I had of different types. Our professional photographer didn’t get photos of all of the food items. We had:

  • Pirate Popcorn
  • ‘Fish & Chips’ – goldfish crackers and apple chips
  • Crab Dip
  • ‘Seaweed Dip’ – Spinach Artichoke Dip
  • ‘Rafts’ – Tortilla Rounds
  • ‘Drift Wood’ – Pita Chips
  • ‘Floats’ – Root Beer Floats with Ice Cream in Mason Jars and Root Beer Bottles
  • Sea Water – Fruit Punch
  • Lagoon Water – Gatorade
  • Snowcones

I didn’t love the Etsy Store that did the birthday banner so I won’t leave the store name here.

Nash’s 1st Birthday

We celebrated Nash’s 1st birthday with a party in early March. We got very lucky with the weather that Saturday and the kids were able to enjoy some time in a bounce house. Nash’s party was baseball, Cubs theme.

Chase’s 3 Year Old Birthday Party – June 2016

So I have a bit of catching up to do on blog posts. I wanted to still do a quick write up of Chase’s 3rd birthday party (June 2016) that was pink and gold, ballet themed. At the time Nash was only 3 months old and I remember purposely picking items that would be very easy to put out and take little assembly or arranging.

This time instead of having a giant cake we went with a bunch of cupcakes shaped into a “3” and then did a whole cake the next day with family.

Our baby girl is 1 year old!!

I can’t believe it, Chase is 1 year old!!! 😀 We are so excited that our baby girl is one year old! It’s amazing to look back a year ago our world was completely changed by this amazing little angel and here we are and she is already a year old!

A look back at June 11, 2013…

The day we met our sweet daughter

We had a wonderful time celebrating with friends and family the weekend before her birthday. First, Chase had all of her friends over to celebrate and then we had a nice relaxing lunch with family the next day. Here are some pictures.

Chase woke up from her nap to find a party with about 40 friends over. Not every family has their child’s picture on out on the internet, so to respect their privacy I will limit posting photos of families to those whom have been on this blog before.

We got Chase her own ‘smash cake’ cupcake. She isn’t a fan of being messy so she had a taste of frosting and a few bites of cake and was not really into much more than that.

The following day we had family over for lunch. She had her second ‘smash cake’ and ate it the same way, very carefully so not to get messy. 🙂 She wasn’t interested in being held much and wanted to keep practicing her walking skills. We did get a very quick picture of her with her cousin Mike and great grandma Ada.

It was such a special weekend to celebrate our little sweetheart.

Then on the big birthday we got up early to open presents with Chase. She wore her “birthday girl” shirt to daycare. After work we picked her up and took her out to dinner at Biaggi’s and bought her flowers. 🙂

Chase’s 1 Year Milestones and Info

IMG_2086

Chase started walking on June 6th! She started with a couple of steps that day and now does 4-6 at a time. She has 6 teeth (4 on top and 2 on the bottom), the last two popped in right after the 11 month post. From what we can tell there are no others yet ready to sprout.

Chase is sleeping so much better! During a week typically 5 nights she will sleep through and put herself back to sleep. A couple nights a week she stands fully up and needs a little water and rocking and goes back to sleep. This is a huge improvement from where we started!!

She is 29 inches long (44th percentile), 22 lbs 14 oz (88th percentile), and 18.5 inches head diameter (94th percentile).

She’s transitioned from baby food to table food and from formula to whole milk. She will enjoy a sippy cup with water, but we haven’t fully transitioned her milk to a sippy cup just yet.

When she talks she is very close to saying ‘dog’ when she sees Coco or another doggie, ‘hi’ or ‘bye’ when she waves, and ‘uh oh’ when she drops something. 🙂

We can’t wait for what is next for this little girl. She is just a blessing and a joy. We love her so much!!
